The purpose of prenatal care is to build a trusting relationship between the parents and the midwife, and to increase the mother's trust in her body's ability to labor and give birth normally as well as to monitor the health and well-being of mother and baby. With good nutrition and appropriate prenatal care, most pregnancies remain low-risk and end with a normal birth and postpartum. You are encouraged to take an active role in your maternity care through education, good nutrition and informed decision |
The midwife's job is to optimize the mother's physical and emotional health, and the baby's position to facilitate the birth process. We believe in appropriate intercession to maintain a complication-free birth and appropriate medical intervention only when indicated. Our practice conforms to the standards of midwifery established by the Midwives' Alliance of North America. |

Philosophy & Practice |
We believe the development and birth of a baby is a normal, healthy process. By trusting the birth process and providing supportive, non-interventive care, your body is able to give birth with beautiful dignity almost all of the time. Birth truly is a pivotal experience that has life-changing significance for each mother, baby and family and we strive to preserve the emotional and spiritual elements of birth. It is your birth and your body and we want you to have the best experience possible. |
